Ignorance is Bliss
Sad but true. I mean, sure stupid people get down about things, but they're usually just down about stupid things.. Since they're stupid people. Not stupid directly, but stupid in the way that it's a thing that can be solved pretty easily, or an issue being made out of a non-issue.
Not just that though. You can more readily enjoy things if you're not sitting there analyzing it the whole time. You can enjoy people's company more because you're not sitting there thinking how dumb they are. Lol, it's kinda harsh when put into words though...
Then I've asked the question before, if you could give some of your intelligence up in exchange for being happier, would you? Also, is it better to be stupid, but generally pleasant, or really smart, and generally a jerk? I got an answer like "People don't generally hate other people for being stupid if they're nice.. But nobody likes a jerk"... True, I guess.. XD
The smart people hate the stupid people though. So there are still haters out there. And they will hate, regardless. Cuz they gotta.
More specifically, I wasn't really thinking in general terms of intelligence anyway, more along the lines of empathy. If i know something I've done, or am doing, is hurting someone, but I can't really NOT do it, without hurting someone else, how can I ever be really happy? It's really hard to just ignore that I'm hurting someone, but at the same time, I'm not gonna be able to help them any without hurting myself or someone else.
People (usually) get over stuff eventually. Here's hoping.

Eventually...one hopes, as you said. Hm.
I don't think there really are many stupid people, just people who willfully accept ignorance. Empathy is trickier, though it'd probably help if this theoretical individual knew they were making you hurt as well, and they could look for a solution as well. Two way problems work best when both people work at it.
Also, I watched the first half of Durarara!!, and it turns out that it is indeed totally awesome. I really liked that opening theme too, but it was replaced in the second half, right? Seems like they're asking for trouble.
Stupid but nice to the point of being ridiculously annoying? ;D

Hm, well my power of empathy (im a super hero!) are pretty strong, to be honest, so a lot of things really bug me that probably slip by others without notice. I had a talk with the person in question, and I think that we're ok now, except for a couple mixed feelings in the fray. But otherwise, we get along much better, and there's less awkwardness and hurt feelings going around.
as for DRRR! The opening theme kinda grew on me after a bit, but the ending one never did. It just wasn't up to par with the old one, not even close.. Even the animation was less impressive, but that could be just me. It's like Gundam Seed's "River", no offense to anyone who liked it, but i just found it annoying and was nowhere near the awesomeness of the other openings/endings. ;P

Glad everything is working out!
I think I skip over the second ending. I've only watched three episodes with it, but I can't even think of it in my head. I know there's a skyscraper or something but...that's it. And you totally only mentioned River because it was my favourite Gundam Seed ending
Oh, and are you still thinking of coming here this month? Because right now I'm sorta busy and I wouldn't want to miss you because of my schedule.
@JGonspy -
Lol nah i mentioned it cuz it's my least favourite. ;P I kinda thought you might have been the one that liked it, but wasn't totally sure. xD Now I guess i know.
We're looking at being in the Toronto area around the uh.. 14th or 15th till probably the 24th or so. It's a pretty big time window, so lemme know when you can get together sometime. ;D
Hopefully now you'll know better
Your timing is pretty good. The final test for my class is on the 12th, so that'll free me up. Maybe we can see each other more than once. Although there's actually a big con here on the 27th if you want to go to that, FanExpo Canada. Probably not worth going out of your way for, but worth being aware of I suppose. Otherwise I'm sure I can find some other amusing things happening here. Does the young fellow have any things he'd like to see in Toronto?
@JGonspy -
haha, excellent. Our exact arrival date is a bit fuzzy, but it's looking to be around the 15th or so now, probably... Either way, could you send me a text soon? I got a new phone and don't have your number in it, if you don't, I'll have to remember to root around for my old phone to get it. XD
We'll have to be leaving before the 27th, unfortunately, work and all.
Otherwise, that sounds like fun! During the week or so we're in (excluding driving time between winnipeg and there of course) we'll definitely have to find time to hang out more than once! One of the days we might have to find my bf's friends and ditch him with them, lol... He has friends that live somewhere in Toronto, from what I remember... I'm not exactly sure where though, so I'm hoping he gets all the details worked out if he plans on seeing them while we're in the area. ;P
Other than that, we have no definite plans, other than just wanting to hang out, really. I just really needed to get outta Winnipeg for awhile, it's quite boring after too long.
