    This

    SHIT?!

So the funny thing is.. I had just barely been saying how there was ever so little I could find to complain or make fun of in this anime (Durarara!!)  Because it really is epic levels of awesome. (I recommend watching it!)  Then we go home, start up an episode… And BOOM!  Theme song change.  >_>

Now I remember a time, while watching Inuyasha, or even Naruto, where I’d look forward to theme song changes… Because it meant new song, new opening animation, with fresh pictures and maybe even sneak peeks at new characters, or hints of what’s to come in the series.  Good stuff.  usually.

But in cases such as this, I do NOT condone the use of a theme song switch. >_< !  Technically, I never really understood the obsession the Japanese seem to have with changing the themes every 12 or so episodes… It just seems like a lot of extra work for little payoff… I dunno. Maybe they have some weird ass reason behind it, other than to just annoy people like me.

Seriously, maybe I’m making a bigger deal about it than it deserves.. (probably, since I already convinced myself it’s not a big deal)  But the whole FEEL of Durarara was set up by watching the amazing opening sequence.  It got me pumped, really excited for a new episode!  The new one isn’t BAD, it’s just.. it doesn’t have the same feel about it.  And the end is boring.  XP  The old end used to be great!  I mean people LOVED it, why would you change your ending theme when you have people doing things like this:::   YouTube playlist of DRRR parodies!

But hey what do I know?  D:

  • Sometimes I think the whole plan is to sell music albums through a cross promotion thing, that’s why there are so many different ones that most shows don’t have actual themes anymore. Although when you mention Naruto, remember how that had one of the worst opening themes ever? The first one I mean. In that way it’s kind of a good thing that they switch them. I don’t know, maybe they should just run it by you when they’re thinking of making a change =P

What is Durarara though? I just finished Black Lagoon so I’m thinking of checking out a new series. After subjecting myself to Code Geass, I’m very careful with recommendations, but I trust you more than random internet doochebags.

Lol well SOME change for the better. But when they take something that is quite obviously REALLY good and well liked.. It just doesn’t make sense to me XP

Anyway, lol yeah me and my bf just finished watching Black Lagoon a little while ago too. Waiting for the third season now I suppose. :P It was quite good… I haven’t bothered with Gayass, I’ve heard this and that about it, generally more good than bad, but it doesn’t really interest me that much. I watched like the first 4 eps or something and never felt like going back to it. o_o

Durarara is really hard to explain.. It’s fucking awesome though.. Made by the same people who did Baccano, if you’ve seen that.. I haven’t. XD It’s got a lot of characters in a really crazy storyline, that slowly comes together over the episodes… It leaves you wanting more all the time. It’s not a finished series though, it’s on 13 of 25 as of last week.. Or this week.. I’m not entirely sure xD

Well, as far as Black Lagoon goes, apparently there isn’t going to be a third season. I think. The guy who does the manga is apparently not working on it anymore, even though it’s not quite done. I have a friend who’s really into it and she’s kinda pissed about it. And ‘Gayass’, lol, I’ll have to remember that one. You can definitely tell that it’s a piece of crap within the first few episodes. That whole series felt like a fanservice sandwich. Or maybe I should say pizza since Pizza Hut is an official sponsor.

I guess I’ll wait till Durarara is finished before downloading it. You’ll have to let me know if it turns to crap though.

Huh.. My friend said there was going to be a third season.. He’s a big fan as well.. But whatever, I dunno either way.. I kinda hope there is though. Gayass is what i’ve called it since the first time I saw the name.. XD It just looks like it could be pronounced that way. Guess I won’t bother watching it then, unless it’s to do a shitty review of it. =P

I’ll let you know about Durarara for sure… The series is still great, the themes just threw me off.. But I’d recommend it to almost anyone, it’s probably one of my favourite anime now. XP
